All of us at Mulch & More wanted to explain and apologize in advance for the industry-wide increase of the mulch prices for the 2010 spring season.

We have only increased our mulch prices the exact amount the manufacturers have increased our cost. The reason for the increase is easy to understand, yet unfortunate: there is a shortage of raw materials and the manufacturers are vigorously competing for these materials (wood, logs, trees, chips, stumps, lumber, etc.). The shortage is due to the lack of land clearing, which is a direct result of the dramatic slowdown in residential home building and commercial build-out.
